The journey so far…
Edward Michael III is a cinematographer originally based in San Francisco Bay Area. Born and raised in Kansas City, EM showed an aptitude for photography, videography, and storytelling at an early age. He studied at Loyola University Chicago and graduated from the Academy of Art University of San Francisco, with a major in cinematography . He studied under Kenn Ferro a steady-cam operator “40 Days and 40 Nights” (2002) and "Bottle Shock" (2008).
In his work, EM focuses on capturing the human condition through documentaries, music videos, commercial branding videos, and personal/ professional video profile videos.
He has created with Rose Rose Productions, The Method Makers, Campari, The Albany Berkshire Ballet Company, Berkshire PULSE, Bloom Studios, ITS THEM Brand Consulting. EM has done video projects in San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles, New York, and The Berkshires in Massachuessets..
His films have screened at the San Francisco 24-hour Film Festival, the San Francisco Black Film Festival, and the LA Underground Film Festival.
Regardless of the type of project, his goal as cinematographer is to create images that will not only tell a story, but affect the viewer on an emotional level; all in service to make the world a more beautiful place.
