Journey To the west

Edward Michael is a cinematographer based in San Francisco.  Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, EM showed an aptitude for photography, videography, and storytelling at an early age.  He studied at Loyola University Chicago and graduated from the Academy of Art University of San Francisco, majored in cinematography and studied under Kenn Ferro (steadycam operator “40 Days and 40 Nights” (2002) and "Bottle Shock" (2008)).

In his work, EM focuses on documentaries, music videos, commercial branding videos, as well as personal and professional video profiles.  He has created hundreds of videos working with Rose Rose Productions, The Method Makers, Campari, Bloom Studios, ITS THEM Brand Consulting.  EM has done video projects in the San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles, New York, and Rome.

His films were featured at the San Francisco 24-hour Film Festival, the San Francisco Black Film Festival, and the LA Underground Film Festival.  

Regardless of the type of project, his goal as cinematographer is to create visuals that will not only tell the story, but that will affect the viewer and make the world a more beautiful place.
